A stunning hat inspired by a pink water lillly and pad.

So I reduced the size of the hat itself and changed the color to black. To make it less comical and more marketable, then I needed to top off a character for another musical I costumed, a year later:
In SHOUT! The Mod Musical, the hat helped to drive home the anachronism and comically conservative nature of the advice columnist Gwendolyn Holmes who's out of touch advice provides a contrast to the other women in the show discovering their place in the changing world of the 1960's and 1970's.
The silhouettes on the wall behind her were almost as stunning as the hat itself, evoking the even earlier hat shapes of the 1920's to 40's but still featuring the huge pink feather flower!
